KYIV MEDICAL UNIVERSITY(KMU) of UAFM is a Ukrainian higher learning institution.

HISTORY-: Established in 1992 by Dr.Pokanevich Valeriy (1950-2012), the university has trained over 10,000 health personnel—mainly general practitioners, dentists and pharmacists. As of August 2014, Kyiv Medical University ranks amongst the best health care institutes in Ukraine, With an idea to infuse principles of alternative medicine in the conventional medical world, the university was established and has been performing at par with leading institutes in Ukraine, The university holds a dedicated department of research and innovation with a simple goal of implementing modern training methodology into the conventional medical education system to reach the aspired goal of training excellent clinicians.

RECOGNIZATION : About 1000 foreign students study at KMU. As a university with the highest level of accreditation by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, all degrees issued to foreign students are legalized and apostatized by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine. Kyiv Medical University (KMU) is recognized and listed in all relevant international directories of medical universities such as the International Medical Education Directory (IMED). This means graduates are eligible to write the United States Medical Licensing Examinations and means certificates are recognized by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in US and the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) for eligibility of graduates to obtain certification and Licensure hence may pursue residency and postgraduate programs in these countries. The university is also registered in the AVICENNA Directory which is maintained by the University of Copenhagen in collaboration with the World Health Organization and the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) meaning KMU is fully recognized by the WHO all governments.
Kyiv Medical University (KMU) is recognized by the Ghana Dental and Medical Council, Nigerian Dental and Medical Council, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, European Council of Medicine, Indian Medical Council and General Medical Council of UK just to name a few. It has joint research and partnership relations with many scientific institutions of the former USSR and all over the world, such as The Poland Medical Academy, Center of control and prophylaxis of diseases of Department of health protection (CDC, US), the southern Kazakhstan scientific and practical conference with international participation and contract with Knurów Sląsk Hospital, Poland about organization of medical practice for students in 4th and 5th courses of medical faculty of KMU.

STUDENTS LIFE : Students have an eventful life at KMU campus. International students from over 20 countries sharing a common desire and goal of becoming a training clinician. Much attention is paid to overall progress of the student including the academic and non-academic progress. The university makes sure that much attention is paid to individual inclinations of the students shall it be in the fields of academics or sports or other culture activities. There are various sports club like cricket, football, basketball, table tennis etc. The students compete not only among KMU but competition Are held all over Ukraine in various universities and teams from university participate is such events and complete with them too. Indian Student Association is also such organization which actively takes part not only in academic opportunities but takes a stand for overall stay on Indian students in KMU. Students join clubs according to their interest and there are special sessions carried out for group discussions.

Qualifications : Ternopil State Medical University is listed in the FAIMER (International Medical Education) directory under ECFMG and the WHO (World Health Organization) directory of Medical Universities/Schools. TSMU’s degree is recognized by WHO, US Education Department, General Medical Council of England, and in EU countries. Since 2005 students are assessed according to the European Credit Test System (ECTS) credit-module system, which will allow the diplomas granted by the University to be converted in all countries of the European Union. International summer schools have involved students from the University of South Carolina, Moscow State University, Kazakh Medical Academy, Shlyonsk Medical Academy (Poland), National Pharmaceutical University (Kharkiv). The university also offers students a chance to travel abroad for student exchange programs during summer.
